Solar Heating and Cooling Systems with Utilization of Hygroscopic Salts Print E-mail

Hygroscopic salt solutions (liquid desiccant), with utilization of solar energy, can be used to dehumidify and cool air in hot and humid climates such as the Persian Gulf coasts. This can be done by plate type heat and mass exchanger, made of a polymer material Polymer Plate Heat exchange ( PPHE) or packed-bed.

1. Mr. Mojtaba Naghavi DashtBaiaz defended his Master thesis entitled “Fabrication of antibacterial coating using copper and silver nano particles” on 13 September 2009. In this project antibacterial coating was manufactured by two methods: luster coating and optical coating of silver on a titanium oxide layer and after optimization of surface and superficial properties, its antibacterial characteristic against E. Coli and Staphylococcus epidermis were investigated.
